Best Dressed at 2013 Sundance Film Festival: Elizabeth Olsen & Dakota Fanning

Dakota Fanning Elizabeth Olsen Sundance 2013Even among heavy stylesetters, like Jessica Alba, Nicole Kidman and Naomi Watts, young actresses Dakota Fanning and Elizabeth Olsen fashionably stood out this week at the 2013 Sundance Festival. The Very Good Girls co-stars posed, for a portrait session at the Village at the Lift in Park City, Utah, wearing the season’s best designs. Elizabeth showed her darker side in The Row leather pants, Stuart Weitzman over-the-knee boots, and a Chanel blouse while Dakota looked all grown up in a 2013 Resort Collection Miu Miu top, slouchy Alexander Wang pants, and Christian Louboutin wedge booties. Gotta love how they matched their outfits.

Turn Heads with the Haircut of the Year: Karlie Kloss’ Chop

Karlie Kloss haircut VoguePhoto: Patrick Demarchelier for Vogue

Step away Jennifer Aniston. Karlie Kloss’ haircut may become the most requested one of the year. After many years of Karlie Kloss’ signature long hair, Garren Defazio has chopped 7 inches of her dark locks for Vogue‘s January issue. Vogue calls it the “cut of the moment”, fashion world predicts that it will become haircut of the year. The ‘Chop’, better known as the ‘Karlie’ for obvious reasons, is a one-length bob-a-like with a layered front and textured feel all around. We are obsessed.

Golden Globes 2013 Best Dressed

Last Sunday, the second most important awards show of the season took place in LA. As predicted, the 2013 Golden Globe Awards red carpet boasted glamorous floor-length gowns and little fashion risk taking. Nevertheless, Emily Blunt stood out in a gold cutout body-hugging dress, Michelle Dockery stayed true to her Downton Abbey character and Kerry Washington combined two of the season’s biggest trends in a sheer and embroidered midi-length gown.

Biggest surprises of the night– Kate Hudson in a gorgeous black gown with exquisite gold detailing (this was probably my favorite look of the night) and Katherine McPhee in a sexy asymmetrical  black number.

AFI Awards 2013 Best Dressed

The award season fun continues. The 2013 AFI Awards luncheon was held on Friday to celebrate achievements in film and television. Held during the day, the ceremony called for more casual attire– a challenge that the stars completed with flying colors. Jennifer Lawrence stood out again (the girl can’t do fashion wrong!) in a colorful tweed sheath paired with neon colorblock ankle-strap sandals while Anne Hathaway toughened a floral dress with a peplum jacket. This is cocktail attire at its best.

2013 AFI Awards Best Dressed

Emilia Clarke (in a Temperly London dress), Jennifer Lawrence (in a Prabal Gurung dress, Casadei for Prabal Gurung shoes with a Jill Milan clutch), Kiernan Shipka (in a Valentino dress and Rupert Sanderson shoes), Anne Hathaway (in an Oscar de la Renta dress worn as a skirt and Isabel Marant shoes)

Your New Party Clutch Is Waiting At JustFab. Just Ask Emily Blunt.

Emily Blunt JustFab clutch

I am not a fan of monthly subscription shopping sites. I don’t care to take the shopping quizzes that psychoanalyze my fashion choices, I don’t like the idea that every month I should want to buy something from that site and I definitely don’t like being charged a monthly fee for items that I don’t necessarily need. But after seeing Emily Blunt’s JustFab clutch at the 2013 Critics’ Choice Awards, I might have fallen prey to another personalized site.

JustFab Bags

But honestly, how expensive does her woven gold clutch look? And you can’t tell it apart from the likes of  DVF and Bottega Veneta clutches. As I signed up for JustFab to find this clutch, I was surprised to discover how many of their affordable Proenza Schouler, Stella McCartney, Celine, Hermes, Alexander McQueens tasteful look-a-like bags I liked. Thanks Emily Blunt for pointing us to the JustFab way.

Critics’ Choice Awards 2013 Best Dressed

Got to love the awards season. Everybody is better dressed version of themselves and the parties don’t stop. Yesterday was the 2013 Critics’ Choice Awards. While I enjoy Oscars and watch in awe as the stars walk in gorgeous floor-length gowns down the red carpet, I can’t help but get excited for less prestigious award ceremonies where the actresses seem more likely to take fashion risks and get more bold.

Just look at Marion Cotillard’s embellished fit-and-flare floral dress and suede cutout sandals. She looks beyond amazing in a shorter dress juxtaposed with simple no-frills accessories. Helen Hunt picked a lesser-known designer and opted for a dress that was age-appropriate instead. I love how the bold color and the lace cutouts say it all without a mega-popular designer name behind it. Emily Blunt did not only chose a super affordable JustFab clutch but paired it with Veronica Lake waves and a designer dress. John Krasinski is one lucky man.

Critics Choice Awards 2013Octavia Spencer (in a Tadashi Shoji dress, Dana Davis shoes with a Judith Leiber clutch), Naomi Watts (in an Emilio Pucci dress, Nicholas Kirkwood shoes with an Edie Parker clutch), Marion Cotillard (in a Zuhair Murad Couture dress, Jimmy Choo heels with a Christian Louboutin clutch), and Amy Adams (in a Vionnet dress and Jimmy Choo shoes).

Critics Choice 2013 Best Dressed

Jennifer Lawrence (in a Prabal Gurung dress with a Roger Vivier clutch), Emily Blunt (in a Miu Miu dress and Prada heels), and Helen Hunt (in a Philip Armstrong dress with a Laura Merkin clutch).
